Dubai Airport on the way to Salzburg
We landed in Dubai at 4.30am and all the kids had on their mind was to find and try the Dubai chocolate!
What an absolutely mammoth airport, it is beyond huge and is certainly the largest airport I have ever been to. There were so many duty free shops with the most incredibly variety of everything fashion, makeup and more. Ben and Daniel went to seek out the gaming lounge which I was told did not
We found a shop which seems to have Dubai chocolate but it was the Fisk chocolate that we tracked down. The kids then filmed themselves cracking it open and the green pistachio filling oozing out. They loved it and said it was very crunchy and the flavour was good.
Moving on down the 100th conveyor belt we had a meal at a cute diner of Mac and cheese and eggs Benedict, our taste buds were not quite up to trying the local cuisine just yet.
We had a 4 hour layover but by the time we made it to our terminal on level c we only had to wait 20 mins and we went right in.
Instead of being ushered onto a plane we were directed into a shuttle bus which we all questioned if we were on the right area/ plane/ bus etc as there was no one explaining anything, however after a quick 10 mins drive we were at the tarmac of our AirDubai plane - this was a lot smaller in size only a 737 Boeing.
We were all taken aback when they opened the doors and a rush of heat hit us as it was 41 degrees! The surrounding city was just out on the horizon and the landscaper was very felt and lots of apartment buildings and we could also see the tallest building - name
Once inside the plane we found our seats and it was nothing like we were used to. No inflight movies no tv no games no music, the kids were very disappointed. Lucky we also packed find a word and crossword puzzles and they could also sleep. We did get a meal though for breakfast which was an omelette and hash brown and sausages which was still easy to eat.
