Go Karting Family Day Out!

To get the kids to agree to go out on family day they wanted something more fun than a walk in a new town exploring or eating new food. They have been saying no to our ideas for weeks and we don’t push them as its torture if we need to drag them along, but this family day we decided to go Go Karting and the kids couldn’t get out the door quick enough.

Its only 10 minutes down the road (5 stops on the 12 bus) and right near the main shopping centre and bowling alley.

Myself, Jess and Daniel have never go karted before, Ben is the only one who had and there was no real instructions or guide on using the cars or how to navigate the course we were directed to choose our helmets, kids were given vests and were shown to our cars.

Right pedal to go and left pedal to slow and told not to use them both at the same time and if they wave a blue flag to move to the right so another car can pass.

What fun! I absolutely loved it, Daniel out of all of us loved it the most and he scares me how quick he goes. Just like he rides a motor bike - at full throttle but he was navigating the course so well.

I had to first get used to how stiff the steering wheel felt to turn corners, you really had to put your body weight into it lol but then once I worked out which part of the course to take out wide and come in sharp and how hard to break etc it was a blast. Jessy was loving it too and we were going the same speed and keeping up with all the other hoons on the track (although there were about 4 that were considerably faster). Ben was keeping up with them and loving it too.

Once we had finished the track person told us we could go again for 10 euros as they were trying to fill spaces for the next race. Ben and Daniel went again as Jess was happy to watch and I was too.

For $20 Euro and a 10 minute turn it is worth it and we will be back.

In fact they have half price day on Mondays and so Daniel is going to do this weekly and Ben probably will too. Then on Wednesday they have ladies day but Jess and I are not sure of the skill level and would not want to get stuck behind the gals. I could be wrong and they rip around the course, might go and see to check it out.
